Can I wear Contact Lenses?
The answer would almost certainly be YES!
Many people still believe that you cannot wear contact lenses if you have astigmatism, or if you need glasses for both far and near vision. That's old news; with the recent advances in technology we can correct almost every prescription.
"At Eye Design we can choose from a wide variety of high quality lenses to suit your individual lifestyle and visual needs."
Daily Disposables
Soft lenses, perfect for a night out, playing sports, special occasions, holidays or when you just fancy another image. Wearing daily disposables gives you a fresh, clean feel every day.
Great convenience
No solutions
No cleaning
2 Weekly / Monthly
Longer replacement lenses cover a broader range of prescriptions and are a more economical option for frequent wearers.
Extended-Flexi Wear
High oxygen performance lenses give you the freedom of sleeping in your lenses, anything from 1 night to 30 nights. They're also great to give your eyes the best oxygen levels available in contact lens wear, especially if you tend to wear your lenses for long hours each day.
Non-Disposables / RGP
RGPS - Rigid gas permeable lenses are ideal for full-time wearers. They offer crisper vision and better long-term ocular response. Gas permeable lenses are often suggested if you have a large amount of astigmatism or if your eyes require more oxygen. Initially these lenses can be more uncomfortable than soft lenses but adaptation does not usually take long. Also, they last longer than soft lenses, which offers wearers a lower cost option.
Cosmetic
Fancy a new look? Well, with cosmetic lenses you can have anything from a subtle colour change to crazy wild eyes, purrrr! We offer a range of different cosmetic lenses from daily to annual replacements. Ask in store for details.
Nike MAXSIGHT® Sport-Tinted Contact Lens

Lens Technology
Today's lens technology means that you do not have to wear thick, unsightly lenses or even lenses which have a limited visual range. With modern lens materials we can manufacture lenses which can be up to 50% thinner and lighter.
Anti-Fatigue Lenses
Many VDU users experience Visual Fatigue. Essilor Anti-Fatigue lenses are a patented-design, advanced, single-vision lens specially designed to relieve the symptoms of visual fatigue. These lenses are ideal for everyone who is in the 20 to 40 years age group and are a good alternative to standard single vision lenses.
Varifocals
The latest development in varifocal lens technology is freeform technology. This means that varifocal lenses now have virtually no peripheral distortions, resulting in larger areas of use and less swim affect and, most importantly, greater visual comfort.
Vocational Lenses
Most people in their forties will at some stage need a mid-range correction. We recommend vocational lenses which are a better alternative to standard single-powered lenses. We can say that they are a type of flexible reading lens where the lenses have a greater working range than single vision lenses. They are suited to many vocations such as electricians, plumbers, desk workers and certain hobbies.
Polarized Lenses
These lenses removed reflected light, such as from wet roads or water, making them suitable for driving. Through personal use we find polarized lenses are very good all year round and exceptionally good for use while driving in the low winter sun.
